2008 Coffee & Chocolate Event Recap Our Best Year Yet!

Friends of Literacy Volunteers helped celebrate our 11th annual Coffee & Chocolate fundraiser on Thursday, November 6th in record numbers. Over 300 people attended the event held at Shea’s Intermission Lounge. We are pleased to announce that this year’s event raised nearly $25,000 in much needed funds for the agency a record high for this event!
Highlights of the evening included the giveaway of a chocolate diamond ring courtesy of S&E Jewelers and the "Basket of Cheer," a raffle of a basket full of spirits donated by members of our board of directors along with a silent auction and great selection of baskets which were raffled off. The baskets and silent auction items were generously donated by over 70 local companies and LV supporters.
Once again we could not have had such a successful event without our major sponsors, Fowlers Chocolates and Starbucks who provided the coffee & chocolate samples for the evening. We also would like to thank the nearly 30 other event sponsors we had this year, which included:
