So, you would like to do something in the community to help but can’t devote a lot of time? Well, whether it’s an hour or a few weeks you have or maybe you’re a student looking to help the community, a professional, retiree, male or female, the gift of your time is priceless to our organization. Just let us know what you can provide and we’re sure to find a volunteer opportunity that’s just right for you. Here are a few of the ways you can help:
Interested in a BBQ?
What could be better than enjoying the weather outside and spending a couple of hours knowing that you’re helping out? Each spring we hold a barbeque for our students and tutors and can always use help on the grill and with the other various activities leading up to and on the day of the barbeque to make it a day of fun for all.
Do you love to wrap gifts?
Join us at Barnes & Noble bookstore each year in December to help wrap gifts. This is a great way to help us raise funds and awareness. And, hey, after you’re done, you can get some shopping done for the holidays too!
Are you a “people person” who loves to talk?
Then you would be great during our “tabling events”. Throughout the year we have various opportunities to set up informational tables and tell others about our organization and get the word out about our tutoring needs.
Or are you the strong, silent type?
No task is too small…we are always looking for help throughout the year with mailings, data entry, and other office work.
