Scrabble Players "Spellebrate" for a Good Cause
Game and word lovers are prepared to shake their tile bags and rack their brains while assisting others during Scrabble® Fest 2006, a fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo and Erie County. Scrabble® Fest will take place throughout Western New York homes from February 17-26, 2006. Hosts are opening their homes to family and friends to play the popular board game Scrabble®. Each person will make a donation to Literacy Volunteers to enter the game. One winner from each party will be invited to a final Scrabble® Party on March 18, 2006 to determine one winner. The Scrabble®-Off will be held at Barnes & Noble on Niagara Falls boulevard.
Literacy Volunteers will host a party that is open to the general public on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 3:00 pm. The entry fee is $20.00 per person and the games will be played at the Literacy Volunteers office located at 1313 Main Street, Buffalo. Anyone interested in hosting a party or participating in the public party should contact Literacy Volunteers at 876-8991.
